Computing and Informatics
Structure of the study program
The study program is in line with the recommendations given in Computing Curricula 2005, Graduate Software Engineering 2009 (GSwE2009) and Information Technology 2008 issued by three competent organizations: The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), The Association for Information Systems (AIS) , The Computer Society (IEEE-CS).
The professional title of the title that the student acquires at the end of this study program is a professional engineer of electrical engineering and computer science in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and the List of professional, academic and scientific titles.
The purpose of the study program is to acquire the highest level of knowledge in computer, communication and multimedia technologies, combining modern knowledge in these areas with the needs of the economy. Students are trained to be able to perform complex tasks in the field: production and maintenance of computer equipment, maintenance, design and development of computer programs, design, installation and maintenance of computer networks and design, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
Objectives of the study program
The main goal of the study program Computer Science and Informatics is to prepare students for successful and productive bearers of the profession of information and computer technologies in industry, public companies, state bodies, health and educational institutions, capable of meeting the needs of society. The purpose of the teaching and learning process within the proposed plan is to enable students to maintain, design and develop computer programs using modern programming languages, design, install and maintain computer networks and design, implement and maintain information systems.
The goal of conducting the study program in the study program Computer Science and Informatics is to train staff for professional work related to the application of computers in various areas of professional engagement. That includes:
- Design, installation, administration and security of computer networks,
- Design and implementation of software and skills of application of commercial software packages,
- Application of Internet and web technologies,
- Development of multimedia resources.
The study program produces professionals who possess the appropriate combination of knowledge and practical experience, so that they can be in charge of creating and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure. Computer and IT professionals are responsible for selecting hardware and software products according to the needs of the organization, integrating these products according to its needs and its infrastructure, and installing, customizing and maintaining applications (ie software systems) used by employees in the organization.
